A Passion for Baking, Passed Down Through Generations

The heart of Lomie Cakes began to beat when I was just 12, helping my mom bake in our family kitchen. I remember watching in awe as she whipped up birthday cakes, trays of cupcakes, and delicious salty pastries for our local home industries. It was then that I knew I’d one day become a baker myself.

Years passed, and I found myself growing even closer to baking, especially after my daughter was born in 2004. Our family moved to Rustenburg, and my mom and I spent days watching

Cake Boss, dreaming of what we could create together.

With my dad’s encouragement, I took a role at a home industries bakery, and by 2012, I was baking full-time.

In 2014, my mom and I opened the first Lomie Cakes shop. Since then, we’ve been committed to crafting cakes, wedding desserts, platters, and cupcakes for celebrations of all kinds.

Though the pandemic led us to close our shop and return to home-based baking, our commitment to creating memorable, handcrafted treats remains as strong as ever.
